A FASHION HOUSE IS BORN

With three generations of family design experience, Michelle Roth has stepped
forward with her eagerly awaited Bridal and Special Occasion Collection,
Michelle Roth Couture, that makes glamour and whisper-cool chic the new
hallmark of sophisticated elegance.

From her flagship salon on Manhattan's
tony 57th Street, Michelle Roth Couture embraces luxury Italian silk satins,
beaded silk chiffons, ethereally painted silk organzas, and crisp silk mikados in a
tour de force of sharp, classic, shapes and timeless silhouettes.

Together with CO-designer and brother, Henry Roth, both born in Sydney,
Australia, to European parents, their sensibilities are a unique melange of
uncluttered creativity.
"Much more than a piece of fabric draped over the female form, we have total
passion and conviction for the spirituality and feelings our designs convey," says
Michelle Roth.  Henry Roth adds, "I am like a rumbling volcano ready to explode,
while Michelle is so calm and tranquil.   Somehow when our creativity combines
our dresses contain just the right amount of well-directed energy.  The pleasure
is palpable on the faces of our clients as they wear our dresses...they feel
moved."

Michelle Roth arrived in New York 14 years ago.  Roth secured a position with
the Australian Consulate, was in awe of the energy of the city, and fell in love
with New York.  After fulfilling her diplomatic duties for her Australian homeland,
Michelle fell into wedding design as a natural consequence of generations of
family bridal businesses.  "We felt a wedding should be an amazing personal
experience for the bride.  I didn't see the service and attention to detail that I
knew was essential for the ultimate experience in a woman's life."  Roth started
with 10 dresses in her small apartment.  That was in 1992.

Henry Roth, with a full law degree under his belt, went to explore the world and
began in London.  He workded for a time with Harvey Goldsmith, Europe's largest
concert promoter in 1986. He then returned to Sydney in 1991 to run his parents
bridal retail and wholesale division, Hear Josef, one of Australia's foremost
wedding houses.  Then New York called...literally.  It was Michelle Roth on the
phone, secure with a new lease on 57th Street, inviting him to join her as a
partner in 1997.  So he did.
The rest is history.
And Michelle Roth is looking towards the future - in Spring 2002, the collection will
be available nationally and throughout Europe.
